WAAST Prayer Guide – October 24, 2021

BIBLE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS & TEACHERS

Proper theological, Pentecostal training for church leaders and workers is crucial, so that they can disciple believers and help them find their roles in Kingdom work. Many WAAST students and alumni are involved full- or part-time in training new pastors, missionaries, and workers. They direct or teach in formal Bible schools or lay-training programs, oversee correspondence programs, travel to hold seminars, and more. In some West and Central African countries, the number of churches being planted outpaces the number of pastors graduating from Bible schools, so some teachers train lay workers to help pastors care for the churches. Bible school administrators and teachers face many challenges. Some schools operate with insufficient infrastructure and few educational resources. Others are located in areas that have become dangerous due to terrorism. COVID-19 has made it difficult for many students to attend, travel has been restricted, and in many cases teachers have had little or no pay. These dedicated servants need our prayers.

Please pray

  • for God’s provision for Bible training programs: teachers and staff, library resources, buildings and needed equipment and furnishings;
  • for wisdom for directors and teachers as they train future church leaders who will then build their churches on a solid foundation and engage them in outreach;
  • for finances and opportunities for God-called believers to attend a Bible school or other Bible training program;
  • that believers from restricted areas or nations would be able to participate in a training program so they can in turn equip others at home. In many areas churches are weak and susceptible to error due to lack of good training.
