WAAST Prayer Guide – May 2, 2021

THE EXTENSION CENTER IN GABON

This center is currently meeting, with 12 students. Most of these are preparing to come to the central campus later this year, along with another seven who were not able to come in 2020. Classes were on hold for most of 2020, but during this time several construction projects were underway on the campus, including dorm rooms and a modern kitchen. Work continues to complete an outdoor kitchen, three married-student and three single ladies’ rooms. Beginning this October, this campus will host the Gabon Assemblies of God’s Bible institute students as well as WAAST students, on a rotating basis. The Gabon AG have faced great challenges in the past year. The extension center director said the loss of three pastors, including a former assistant general superintendent, “has really touched the moral of the country.” Church-planting projects and outreaches are currently suspended, as a nightly curfew is still in place due to COVID-19.

Please pray

  • that the Lord would encourage His people in Gabon, and use them, despite restrictions, to advance His kingdom;
  • for provision for the WAAST students to come to Togo in August to complete their program;
  • for the completion of the construction projects by October, and that every room would be filled with God-called students!

Look What the Lord Has Done!

The center was able to hold classes in late 2020 and is in its second session of 2021. The Lord is calling workers: about 20 first-year student are expected to enter the Bible institute and begin their pastoral training in October.
