WAAST Prayer Guide – April 11, 2021

THE EXTENSION CENTER IN CAMEROON

This center begins a new session this week. The April 2020 session was canceled, but they were able to resume courses in October, with some 35 students. New first-year students will join them this session. Those from the two English-speaking regions, wracked by civil war, often find it difficult to travel to the center and to find funds to pay. In the Far North Region, jihadist attacks are frequent, and Islamists are establishing themselves in southern regions as well. Some independent “revival churches” preach false, syncretistic doctrines, mixing traditional animistic beliefs with biblical ones. This nation desperately needs peace and truth, and only the Good News and changed hearts can bring this about. Some 185 WAAST graduates work with the Full Gospel Mission and the AG-Cameroon, preaching, planting churches, and training other workers to share and live out this message before others.

Please pray

  • for the upcoming session: for safe travels and provision for students and for inspiring, Spirit-directed class sessions;
  • for God’s intervention in the ongoing conflict in the anglophone regions, and for the work of the intrepid pastors there who continue to preach and teach in the Bible school and on radio and social media;
  • for more workers to serve among the less-reached people groups; most of these 37 groups serve Allah and/or tribal spirits;
  • for wisdom for church leaders regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, that they may be good examples to others. The refusal of some independent leaders’ to respect regulations affects the Christian witness.
