WAAST Prayer Guide – June 5, 2022

This week pray for EMPOWERMENT FOR THE UNFINISHED TASK

Today is Pentecost Sunday! Over the past week, and even past weeks, Pentecostal churches in many African nations have been holding special prayer meetings and services to teach about and seek the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Nearly two thousand WAAST alumni and students are emphasizing the work of the Holy Spirit in their churches, youth and children’s programs, and through various media. As Pentecostals, we know what the disciples learned that day in the Upper Room in Jerusalem—that only the Holy Spirit can mobilize and empower God’s people to take the Light of Jesus into the dark corners of the world where animism, Islam, or other belief systems hold people captive.

Please pray

  • for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit on thirsty souls in Africa’s churches, not only this week, but in the weeks and months to come;
  • that those listening through various media would respond to the Spirit’s invitation to abundant life and greater witness;
  • that the youth and children would receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit and influence their families and communities;
  • that God’s missionary Spirit would call men and women to intercede for and to boldly take the Good News to unreached or resistant peoples.
